Transfer 7, Week 3- God Bless America, and Tender Mercies.

Good morning! Happy 4th of July! I recognize that if you read this right after I send this, it will be the 3rd of July if you're in the USA or the general vicinity, and if you are, you probably won't email on the fourth, so happy 5th of July! #America.

Being here in Korea has been a huge blessing in and of itself, and during my time here, I have also come to realize that the United States is a blessed land. Koreans can see that, too. I'm proud to be a citizen of the United States of America. So my spiritual thought will be about freedom!

"...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 2 Corinthians 3:17

"And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives." Mosiah 5:8

Christ is our liberty, and His gospel is the key that can break us from bondage, we just have to trust in the liberating power of His Atonement.

This week was kinda uneventful, but I experienced a lot of tender mercies from the Lord this week. Also, I finished the New Testament for the first time! It was a good experience. The scriptures help me feel close to God.

Transferencia 7, Semana 3- Dios Bendiga  América,  Gracias y favores.

¡Buenos días! Feliz el 4 de julio! Reconozco que si usted  leen esto  después  que lo envíe , será el día 3 de julio si usted está en los EE.UU. o en la vecindad general, y si es así,  tenga un feliz ¡4 de julio! #america

Estar aquí en Corea ha sido una gran bendición, y durante mi tiempo aquí, también me he dado cuenta de que Estados Unidos es una tierra bendita. Los coreanos pueden ver eso también. Estoy orgulloso de ser un ciudadano de los Estados Unidos de América. Así que mi pensamiento espiritual será acerca de la libertad!

"... Donde está el Espíritu del Señor, allí hay libertad." 2 Corintios 3:17

"Y bajo este título sois libre, y no hay otro medio del cual podáis ser librados No hay otro nombre dado por el cual venga la salvación;. Por lo tanto, yo quisiera que tomar sobre vosotros el nombre de Cristo, todo lo que que han entrado en el pacto con Dios para que seáis obedientes hasta el fin de sus vidas ". Mosíah 5: 8

Cristo es nuestra libertad, y su evangelio es la clave que nos puede romper de las ataduras, sólo tenemos que confiar en el poder liberador de Su expiación.

Esta semana fue un poco sin incidentes, pero experimente  una gran cantidad de misericordias del Señor esta semana. Además, he terminado el Nuevo Testamento por primera vez! Fue una buena experiencia. Las escrituras me ayudan a sentirme cerca de Dios.

Transfer 7, Week 2- Combined Zone Conference, and Goodbye to President Shin.

Hello all! So this week, President Shin and Sister Shin will be going back home to Utah, and we'll be getting President and Sister Madsen to guide us in the Daejeon mission! It's gonna be an adventure the next year or so. :)

Last week we had combined zone conference with the northern zones in the mission (Cheongju, Cheonan, Daejeon), and I got to see my trainer, and Elder Peay my third companion, as well as other missionaries that served in Chungju. Good times :)

Other than that, our week was pretty uneventful, so I'm just going to send pictures.

Transferencia 7, Semana 2 - Conferencias Combinada de Zona y Adiós al Presidente Shin.

¡Hola a todos! Bueno esta semana, el Presidente y la Hermana  Shin  se van a su casa en Utah, y vamos a  recibir al Presidente y la hermana Madsen que nos guíaran en la misión  Daejeon! Va a ser una aventura el próximo año. :)

La semana pasada tuvimos la conferencia de zona en combinación con las zonas del norte de la misión (Cheongju, Cheonan, Daejeon), yo llegue a ver mi entrenador y Elder Peay mi tercer compañero, así como otros misioneros que sirvieron en Chungju. Buenos tiempos :)

Aparte de eso, nuestra semana fue bastante tranquila, así que sólo voy a enviar fotos.

Transfer 7, Week 1- 시골 Sanctuary

Hello all! I trust that you are well, and if you are going through trials, I trust you are enduring well. :)

So, last week, a bunch of missionaries went home, and including the amount of missionaries going home at the end of this transfer, about 30% of the mission will be gone by the end of July. We only have sisters coming in (or did they come in already? Being in a 2 man area you tend to fall out of the loop), so a lot of companionships in the big cities have been closed down, and will probably be whitewashed when more Elders come in.

Here in the countryside, almost nothing happened with transfers, except the tri-panionship in Seosan went down to 2 people now. Really, I think the mission is falling apart (it's amusing, actually), but I'm here in my Countryside Sanctuary.

Anyway, I saw a few miracles this week!

1. One of our baptized investigators wanted to be confirmed when his friend could come out to church, but his friend wasn't home for a few weeks due to family problems. I was super concerned that confirmation would be delayed, but his friend came home last Friday, alive and well! He was confirmed yesterday :)

2. In December, another investigator was baptized, but because of family problems. Fortunately, due to a streak of good weather and some miracles on the side, he came to church and received the gift of the Holy Ghost! My previous companion Elder Peay was very happy to hear the news. :)

So yeah, that's all I have to say. Monsoon season is beginning, so I have to prepare for tons of rain and humidity... great.

Transferencia 7, Semana 1- 시골 Santuario

¡Hola a todos! Confío en que usted está bien, y si usted está pasando por dificultades, confío en que están soportandolo bien. :)

Bueno, la semana pasada, un grupo de misioneros se fueron a su casa,  incluyendo la cantidad de misioneros que van a casa al final de esta transferencia, alrededor del 30% de la misión se habrá ido antes de finales de julio. (Sólo tenemos hermanas que entran o  ya han venido.  Estar en un área de 2 hombres tienden a caer fuera del map), por lo que una gran cantidad de compañerismos en las grandes ciudades se han cerrado, y probablemente será agregados cuando más Elders entren al campo misional.

Aquí en el campo, casi no pasó nada con las transferencias, excepto el trio de Seosan bajó a 2 personas ahora. Realmente, creo que la misión se está cayendo a pedazos (es divertido, en realidad), pero estoy aquí en mi santuario del campo.

De todos modos, vi algunos milagros esta semana!

1. Uno de nuestros investigadores bautizados querían ser confirmado cuando su amigo pudiera venir a la iglesia, pero su amigo no estaba en casa durante unas semanas debido a problemas familiares. Yo estaba muy preocupado de que la confirmación se retrasaría, pero su amigo llegó a casa el viernes pasado, vivo y bien! Fue confirmado ayer :)

2. En diciembre, otro investigador fue bautizado, pero por problemas familiares también no pudo ser confirmado por 7 meses. Afortunadamente, debido a una racha de buen tiempo y algunos milagros, El llegó a la iglesia y recibió el don del Espíritu Santo! Mi compañero anterior Elder Peay estaba muy feliz de escuchar las noticias. :)

Así que sí, eso es todo lo que tengo que decir. La temporada del Monsoon empieza, por lo que tenemos que prepararnos para un montón de lluvia y la humedad es grande.

Transfer 6, Week 6- Hyeonbin y Junbae 안현빈, 전준배

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well and feeling God's love.

Today we receive transfer calls; I will send an update as soon as I can.

Yesterday, 2 of our investigators got baptized! Their names are the title of the email. Another had to go to Seoul, so he'll be baptized hopefully later.

Being part of meeting, teaching, and baptizing Brothers Hyeonbin and Junbae was such a wonderful privilege and miracle. These young people were truly prepared by the hand of the Lord.

I testify that God lives, and He watches over His children. He wants us all to be happy. He gave His Son Jesus Christ to save us, and to give us a perfect example, and I'm so glad that these two young men have chosen to follow him.

I took other pictures during the week, but to preserve the feeling, I'll send them next week.

So, pictures! :)

Hyeonbin  in white, was referred by his father (on the right), a less active. It took a while to meet him, but when we met him, he started going out to church, and didn't miss a day. He accepted teachings very well, and asked lots of good questions. Also, he has a big family that came up from Gwangju and Naju. His uncle who baptized him (on the left), is actually one of the bishopric in the Cheomdan Ward in Gwangju! Small world. Seeing a big family come together like this strengthened my testimony of families being blessed by the gospel.

We met Junbae through our recent convert Josh. They're best friends. He came out to church, and teaching him was super easy. He's very calm, and he focused really well as we taught him. When our district leader Elder Wright asked him about any feelings he had at church, Junbae said that he'd attended churches ever since he was little, but when he came to our church, he felt a warm feeling inside him that he never experienced before. What a wonderful child of God. :) Conversion truly is a sacred experience.

Transferencia 6, Semana-6 Hyeonbin y Junbae 안현빈, 전준 배

Hola a todos, espero que estén bien y sientan el amor de Dios.

Hoy recibimos llamadas de transferencia; Voy a enviar una actualización tan pronto como pueda.

Ayer, 2 de nuestros investigadores se bautizaron! Sus nombres son el título del correo electrónico. Otro tenía que ir a Seúl, por lo que va a ser bautizado con suerte más tarde.

Ser parte de las Charlas, las enseñanza y bautismos de los Hermanos Hyeonbin y Junbae fue un maravilloso privilegio y milagro. Estos jóvenes fueron prepararos verdaderamente por la mano del Señor.

Doy testimonio de que Dios vive y vela por sus hijos. Él quiere que todos seamos felices. Ha dado a su Hijo Jesucristo para salvarnos y para darnos un ejemplo perfecto, estoy muy contento de que estos dos jóvenes han elegido  seguirlo.

Tomé otras fotos durante la semana, pero para preservar el sentimiento se las enviaré la próxima semana.

Ahora, las fotos! :)

Hyeonbin en blanco, fue referido por su padre (a la derecha), un menos activo. Nos tomó un tiempo para reunirnos con él, pero cuando nos reunimos con él, él empezó a ir a la iglesia, y no se perdió un día. Él aceptó las enseñanzas muy bien, nos hizo un montón de buenas preguntas. Además, tiene una gran familia que vinieron de Gwangju y Naju. Su tío, que lo bautizó (a la izquierda), es en realidad uno del obispado en el Barrio Cheomdan en Gwangju! Mundo pequeño. Al ver una gran familia reunirse con esto fortaleció mi testimonio de que las familias están siendo bendecidas por el Evangelio.

Nos encontramos con Junbae a través de nuestro recién converso Josh. Son mejores amigos. Él vino a la iglesia, y la enseñanza de él era muy fácil. Es muy tranquilo, y se concentró realmente bien como le enseñamos. Cuando nuestro líder de distrito Elder Wright le preguntó acerca de los sentimientos que tenía en la iglesia, Junbae dijo que había asistido a iglesias desde que era pequeño, pero cuando llegó a nuestra iglesia, sintió una sensación de calor en su interior que nunca antes experimentado. Lo que un niño maravilloso de Dios. :) La conversión es verdaderamente una experiencia sagrada.

Transfer 6, Week 5- Still in Dangjin

Hello everyone! God is wonderful. He's so kind, and loving, and perfect in every way.

So, there isn't much to say this week, but I'm going on a split with Elder Wright, the district leader, to do baptismal interviews for our 3 investigators. It's gonna be a good time, and expect pictures next week!

Yesterday was fast Sunday, and while I was fasting, I was expressing my feelings to God about some trials I was facing. I expressed how I wasn't sure if I could keep enduring, but I received a feeling of peace. When I finished my fast with a prayer, I told God, "I thank you for the feeling of peace, but I don't know if it means I have to endure more, or if my trials will soon be over. But I trust you, with every fiber of my being."

I never thought I would feel so close and so confident in God, ever in my life, but it happened. God is my strength, my song, and my salvation. I testify that He lives, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, is our Savior.

Transferencia 6, Semana 5- Todavía en Dangjin

¡Hola a todos! Dios es maravilloso. Él es tan amable y cariñosa, y perfecto en todos los sentidos.

Bueno, no hay mucho que decir esta semana, pero  voy en una división con el Elder  Wright, el líder de distrito, para hacer entrevistas bautismales para nuestros 3 investigadores. Va a ser un buen momento, y esperen fotos  la próxima semana!

Ayer fue domingo de ayuno, y mientras yo estaba  ayunando,  yo estaba expresando mis sentimientos a Dios sobre algunas pruebas que estaba enfrentando.  Expresé la forma en que no estaba seguro si podía mantenerme  fuerte,  pero recibí un sentimiento de  paz. Cuando terminé mi ayuno con una oración, le dije a Dios: "Te agradezco por la sensación de paz, pero no sé si eso significa que tengo soportar más, o si mis pruebas se acabarán pronto. Pero confío en ti, con cada fibra de mi ser ".

Nunca pensé que me sentiría tan cerca y tan confiado en Dios, en mi vida, pero sucedió.  Dios es mi fuerza, mi canción  y mi salvación. Testifico que Él vive, y que Su Hijo  Jesucristo, es nuestro Salvador.

Bueno, eso es todo lo que tengo que decir; como he dicho, esperen por la próxima semana! :) Los amo a todos.
