Transfer 5, Week 4- So There Were Two Koreans and a Foreigner...

Good day to all! I hope you have felt God's love, and that your souls are blossoming with joy as the spring season goes along.

So on Tuesday, we had a traveling  AP come up to Dangjin. Elder Jeong extended his mission, and he's been traveling through the countryside areas helping the missionaries before he goes home this week. He actually was the zone leader in Cheongju when I was in Chungju. It was an intense experience at first (He's an intense missionary), but as I got to know him and work with him, I felt comfortable and felt a lot of understanding and love for him. I also learned a ton of stuff from him, and I hope to apply what I learned well as a missionary.

So yeah, know and get to know the people that surround you. You'll love them so much more, I promise.

The week was actually uneventful for the most part, because Elder Ha got really sick with a bad cold and congestion. Then the next day Elder Jeong got really sick, so the next couple days were just at the house. I just stood as a witness to all this, and one morning I woke up and felt like I was in a funeral home... Haha. It's also interesting to see my companion take 10+ pills at the same time (Korean medicine is complicated).

We met with this mom and her 2 kids, both in school. It was super fun, and they surprised us by coming out to church! It was a tender little miracle. Not only that, but another less active came out of nowhere, and he referred us to his son! We'll try to contact him this week. All in all, the attendance was a surprising 21 people! I felt so much gratitude for the Lord and for Him reaching out to His children.

So, that's all I have to say. I don't have any pictures since there wasn't a lot of stuff going on except resting at home.. Sorry. I love you all, and I hope you have a great week! :)

Transferencia  5, Semana 4- Así que había dos coreanos y un extranjero ...

¡Buen día a todos! Espero que ustedes este  sintiendo  el amor de Dios, y que sus almas estén floreciendo  con alegría como la temporada de primavera.

Este  martes, tuvimos un Asistente del Presidente viajante aquí en  Dangjin.  Elder Jeong extendió su misión, y él ha estado viajando a través de algunos pueblos  para  ayudar a los misioneros antes de irse a casa esta semana. En realidad era el líder de zona en Cheongju cuando estaba en Chungju. Fue una experiencia intensa en un primer momento (él es un misionero intenso), pero como llegué a conocerlo y trabajar con él, me sentí  cómodo  y sentí  una gran cantidad de comprensión y amor por él. También aprendí un montón de cosas de él,  espero poder aplicar lo que he aprendido de ser misionero.

Así es, Saber  y llegar a conocer a las personas que te rodean, Te ayudara a amar a  ellos mucho más, lo prometo.

La semana fue sin incidentes en su mayor parte, porque Elder Ha estuvo  muy enfermo con una mala gripe y congestión.  Al siguiente día Elder Jeong se puso muy enfermo, por lo que los próximo par de días  sólo lo pasamos  en la casa. Yo me quedé como testigo de todo esto, y una mañana me desperté y sentí como si estuviera en una funeraria ... Haha. También fue  interesante ver a mi compañero  tomar mas de 10 píldoras  al mismo tiempo (la medicina coreana es complicada).

Nos encontramos con esta madre y sus 2 hijos, en edad de escuela. Fue súper divertido, y nos sorprendió que vinieran a la iglesia! Fue un pequeño milagro tierno. No sólo eso, sino otro menos activo salió de la nada, y él nos refirió a su hijo! Vamos a tratar de ponernos  en contacto con él esta semana. Además, la asistencia fue sorprendente,  21 personas! Me siento muy agradecido  por el Señor y por  acercamiento de  sus hijos.

Por ahora, eso es todo lo que tengo que decir. No tengo ninguna foto porque no ha estado pasando cosas esta semana, excepto descansando en  casa .. Lo siento.  Los amo a todos, y espero que tengan una gran semana! :)

Transfer 5, Week 3- I Finally Watched Conference (sort of), and the Time Schedule of Jesus Christ

Good day everyone! I hope you all had a good week! I apologize that my emails about conference a late compared to all your other missionary friends, but that is what happens when you are on the other side of the world. Really, it's such a blessing for me to have lived so close to the headquarters of the church, and it humbles me to see the sacrifices made for the kingdom of God in the land of Korea.

So, I'll just get this out of the way. 4 of the 5 baptismal dates we had dropped. Korean parents tend to oppose church attendance and in this Confucian society their word is law, and there isn't much we can do about it. The remaining investigator with a baptismal date may have the same problem because of her father.

There isn't much to do except pray, hope, and move forward in the work of the Lord. As my companion put it, it is "the time schedule of Jesus Christ". The way he said this phrase was funny when I heard it, but it stuck with me. The Lord's ways are higher than ours, and my desire is to work according to His timing. God loves His children, and has a plan for all of them. He not only knows what is best, but knows when is best. God wants us all to come back to him, I know that for a fact.

Conference was great! Unfortunately because of appointments, I was not able to see Saturday's sessions. It may be that I have to wait for the Liahona to come out next month. But Sunday was fantastic, with excellent musical selections and a talk from my favorite apostle Elder D. Todd Christofferson. His talk on fatherhood made me think about my future role as a father, and I recognized that to fulfill this divine role, I must be divinely prepared, and this mission experience is an excellent way to divinely prepare for the future. I look forward to teach my future children to walk in the light.

Korean desserts are quite impressive.

Transferencia  5, Semana 3 -  Finalmente  miré la Conferencia (más o menos), y el  Tiempo  de Jesucristo.

¡Buen día a todos! Espero que todos hayan tenido una buena semana!  Me disculpo que mi email sobre la conferencia  tarde en comparación con todos sus otros amigos misioneros, pero eso es lo que sucede cuando se está en el otro lado del mundo. Realmente, es una bendición para mí haber vivido tan cerca de la sedes de la iglesia y es Humilde para mi  ver los sacrificios hechos por el reino de Dios en la tierra de Corea.

Bueno, Cambiando de tema.  4 de las 5 fechas de bautismo que teníamos se cayeron.  Los padres coreanos tienden a oponerse a la  asistencia a la iglesia y en esta sociedad confuciana su palabra es ley,  no hay mucho que podamos hacer al respecto. El investigador restante con una fecha de bautismo puede tener el mismo problema debido a su padre.

No hay mucho que hacer excepto orar, tener esperanza  y avanzar en la obra del Señor. Como mi compañero dijo, es "El tiempo es de Jesucristo".  La forma en que dijo esta frase fue  gracioso cuando lo oí, pero me quedó grabada. Los caminos del Señor son más altos que los nuestros, y mi deseo es trabajar de acuerdo a Su tiempo. Dios ama a sus hijos  y tiene un plan para todos ellos. Él no sólo sabe lo que es mejor, pero sabe cuándo es  mejor. Dios quiere que todos nosotros vengamos  de nuevo a él, sé que es un hecho.

La Conferencia fue genial! Desafortunadamente, debido a las citas, No pudimos  ver las sesiones del sábado. Puede ser que tenga que esperar a que la Liahona salga el próximo mes. Pero la del domingo fue fantástica, con excelentes selecciones musicales y un discurso de mi apóstol favorito Elder D. Todd Christofferson. Su discurso sobre la paternidad me hizo pensar en mi futuro papel como  padre, y reconozco que para cumplir esta función divina  debo estar preparado por Dios, y esta experiencia de la misión es una excelente manera de prepararse para el futuro divinamente. Tengo ganas de enseñar a mis hijos en el futuro a caminar en la luz.

Transfer 5, Week 1- Co-senior adventures with Elder Ha

Hello everyone, I hope you had a good Easter. In Korean it's called Resurrection Day, so that's pretty straightforward, haha.

So, I went to Cheonan on Thursday to pick up my new companion, and Elder Peay went straight to Cheongju from there. It's super interesting to go Co-senior with 1, my older MTC group, 2, a Korean, and 3, in my 5th transfer. Elder Ha Minsu is the best. He's super diligent, and the mission president calls him a "baptism machine". I look forward to serving with him here in Dangjin. He's from Paju in Gyeonggido, part of the Seoul South mission. Attending the Dangjin group of between 10 to 20 people a week is way different from his ward of 100+ people. He likes it though.

We also met with Jose last week. He has to go to the US to see family, so we suggested reading the Book of Mormon while on the plane. He thought it was a great idea! I'm excited to see how that turns out. We also committed him to pray about it with his son when he comes back to Korea.

Korea is the best, I should say. Koreans are a wonderful people full of love, humor and hospitality.

Also, I just want to share my testimony of Jesus Christ. He is our Savior, who suffered for all of us and is now risen. He lives, and loves us, and knows us perfectly. :)

Transferencia 5, Semana 1- Companero Iguales, aventuras con Elder Ha

Hola a todos, espero que hayan tenido un buen Pascua. En Corea se llama Día de la Resurrección, por lo que es bastante sencillo, jaja.

Bueno, fui a Cheonan el jueves para recoger a mi nuevo compañero, y Elder Peay fui directamente a Cheongju a para salir de ahí. Es súper interesante ir como Co-mayor,   1-Con un companero de mi grupo del MTC, 2.-un coreano, y 3.- es mi quinta transferencia. Elder Ha Minsu es lo mejor. Es muy diligente, y el presidente de misión le llama una "máquina de bautismo". Miro adelante a servir con él aquí en Dangjin. Él es de Paju en Gyeonggido, parte de la misión del Sur Seúl. Asistin al grupo Dangjin  entre 10 a 20 personas a la semana es de forma diferente a su barrio de más de 100 personas. A él le gusta sin embargo.

También nos reunimos con José la semana pasada. Tiene que ir a los EE.UU. para ver a la familia, por lo que le sugeri la lectura del Libro de Mormón, mientras va en el avión. Él pensó que era una gran idea! Estoy emocionado por ver que resulta. También lo comprometimos a orar al respecto con su hijo cuando regrese a Corea.

Corea es lo mejor, debo decir. Los coreanos son un pueblo maravilloso lleno de amor, humor y hospitalidad.

Además, sólo quiero compartir mi testimonio de Jesucristo. Él es nuestro Salvador, que sufrió por todos nosotros y ahora ha resucitado. Él vive y nos ama, y ​​nos conoce perfectamente. :)

Transfer 5, Week 2- You Already Watched General Conference

Good Morning or whatever time of day, everyone! The Lord is good, there are miracles everywhere, and I am super glad I'm a day ahead of you all because I don't want to read emails about conference yet. Because of translation and time delay, we have to watch it a week after all of you people in America (yes, the whole continent). I'm very excited to hear the words of the living prophets, seers, and revelators.

So, talking about miracles, Elder Ha and I set 5 baptismal dates in 2 days! Really, it was such a crazy weekend. There is a lot of potential in Dangjin, and Elder Ha knew how to snatch at it. I'll keep you updated as the weeks go on. :) I know now what it means when the scriptures say "the field is white already to harvest".

Also, Spring is so pretty here in Korea. The trees wake up in stages, so I'll be sure to send pictures as the world wakes up here. Hymn 62, All Creatures of our God and King, comes to mind. "Dear Mother Earth, who day by day, unfoldest blessings on our way, Aleluya, Aleluya, The flowers and fruit that in thee grow, let them His glory also show, Aleluya, Aleluya, Aleluya, Oh Praise Him! Aleluya!"

When Koreans cut hair, they don't like taking much off the top at all. Also, haircuts here are expensive, but it's a nice style.

 We helped a member on his potato farm the other day, and he was so kind and bought us the best strawberries I've ever had.

Transferencia 5, Semana 2- Ya Vieron la  Conferencia General.

Buenos Dias o lo que sea la hora del día para todo el mundo!,  El Señor es bueno, hay milagros en todas partes, y estoy súper contento que estoy un día antes de que todo porque no quiero leer emails  sobre la conferencia todavía. Debido a la demora en la traducción y el tiempo, tenemos que verlo una semana después  que todos ustedes en América (sí, el continente entero). Estoy muy emocionado de escuchar las palabras de los profetas  viviente, videntes y reveladores.
Así, hablando  de milagros, Elder Ha y yo pusimos  5 fechas de bautismo en 2 días! En realidad, fue  un fin de semana  loco. Hay un gran potencial en Dangjin, y Elder Ha sabe cómo tomarlos. Voy a mantenerlos  informados a medida que pasen las semanas. :) Ahora sé lo que significa cuando las escrituras dicen "el campo blanco está ya para la siega".
Además, la primavera es tan bonita aquí en Corea.  Los árboles despiertan por etapas, por lo que estará seguro para enviar fotos como el mundo  despierta aquí. Himno 62, Todas las criaturas de nuestro Dios y Rey,  viene a la mente. "Querida Madre Tierra, que día a día, se desarrolla bendiciones en nuestro camino, Aleluya, Aleluya, Las flores y frutas que crecen en ti, deja que su gloria también muestran, Aleluya, Aleluya, Aleluya, Oh Alabarle!
