Transfer 2, Week 5- Feliz Navidad

Hello, everyone! I'm in Jecheon for the day (and I forgot my camera, so pictures next week..), and today is Pday! I won't write on Christmas- it's just going to be a normal proselyting day after skyping with family, so that'll be fun. :)

I just wish to share my testimony.

Jesus is the Christ. I shall never deny him, and I testify of His divinity as Peter did; He is "the Son of the living God". Christ was born, lived, died, and resurrected for us, and through Him we can have eternal hope and joy.

Christ left us the perfect example to follow, but only through the infinite power of the Atonement are we able to walk on His path and be perfected in Him.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and I wish to state once more: Jesus is the Christ. I hope these small words have enough power for you to feel the strength of my testimony.

Transfer 2, Semana  5- Feliz Navidad

¡Hola a todos! Estoy en Jecheon-Si  por el día (y se me olvidó mi cámara, asi que fotos la próximas semana ..),  hoy es dia de preparacion! No voy a escribir en Navidad- Sólo va a ser un día normal de proselitismo después skyping con la familia, por lo que va a ser divertido. :)

Sólo deseo compartir mi testimonio.

Jesús es el Cristo. Nunca lo voy a negar, y he dado testimonio de su divinidad como lo hizo Pedro; Él es "el Hijo de Dios vivo". Cristo nació, vivió, murió y resucitó por nosotros, y por medio de él podemos tener esperanza eterna y alegría.

Cristo nos dejó el ejemplo perfecto a seguir, pero sólo a través del poder infinito de la expiación somos capaces de caminar en Su camino y ser perfeccionados en Él.

Les deseo una muy Feliz Navidad, y deseo expresar una vez más: Jesús es el Cristo. Espero que estas pequeñas palabras tenga el poder suficiente para que se sienta la fuerza de mi testimonio.

Transfer 2, Week 4- Filipino FHE, and 허준영

Hello everyone, I don't have a lot to say this week. Here Koreans are always busy, so we have about 6 (or less, usually less) to 10 appointments a week. Apparently in the US that's a daily count, hahaha...

But I'm okay! I love Chungju, and I'm having a good time with my companion, Elder Burton. Speaking of which, his birthday was on the 8th, so the Flilipinos in our ward had a family home evening with us the night before and then brought us food and had a surprise party for him! It was so awesome.

So, 허준영: It's my Korean name! The Korean sisters in our district made it for me! I'll be sure to get it on my name tag. :)

Other than that, not much to say. The gospel is good, and it feels good to share our happiness. Have a great week!

Transferencia  2, Semana 4- Filipinos FHE y 허준영

Hola a todos, no tengo mucho que decir esta semana. Aquí los coreanos siempre están ocupados, así que tenemos alrededor de 6 (o menos, por lo general menos) a 10 citas a la semana. Al parecer, en los EE.UU. eso es lo que hacen  todos los días, jajaja ...

Pero estoy bien! Me encanta Chungju, y estoy pasando un buen tiempo con mi compañero, el Elder Burton. Hablando de eso, su cumpleaños fue el día 8, por lo que los Flilipinos en nuestro barrio tenía una noche de hogar con nosotros la noche anterior  nos trajeron comida y tenía una fiesta sorpresa para él! Fue tan impresionante.

Así, 허준영: Es mi nombre coreano! Las hermanas coreanas en nuestro distrito lo hicieron para mí! Voy a estar seguro de  ponerlo en mi placa. :)

Aparte de eso, no hay mucho que decir. El evangelio es bueno, y se siente bien  compartir nuestra felicidad. ¡Que tengas una buena semana!

Transfer 2 Week 3- 구주 나셨네 (Something about a Savior being born)

What's good, yall? I'm doing great. So it actually snowed here last week, but it's all melted now. Weird stuff. The day it snowed it went from clouds to not being able to see out the window multiple times a day, so I felt like it was Utah :)

So, I don't have a lot to say, except watch the new Christmas video! You probably have, so I'm not gonna pressure you or anything, but if you want to watch it in Korean and listen to the wonderful dubbing, go to mormon.org/kr.

We have a couple of investigators, but Korean is such a busy society that it's hard to get them to come to church. But we have faith that they can feel the joy of the Gospel.

Also, some of you know that I have seasonal depression, so when sunlight is scarce, I get extremely sad and feel too weak to move. There was a week where there was no sunlight at all, and I thought I had no hope left, but God was so kind as to let me see the sun come out for just a few minutes. There is a God who watches us, and gives us what we need because he loves us, and I hope we all can let the world know that there is a loving Father in Heaven who knows us.

Transfer 2 Semana 3 구주 나셨 네 (Algo acerca de un Salvador que nacio)

Que es bueno?, Estoy muy bien. Así que en realidad nevó aquí la semana pasada, pero todo se derritio ahora. Cosas raras. El día que nevó pasó de nublado a  no poder  ver por la ventana varias veces al día, así que me sentí como si fuera Utah :)
Por lo tanto, no tengo mucho que decir, excepto vean  el nuevo video de Navidad! Es probable que ya lo hicieran, así que no voy a presionarlo ni nada, pero si quieren  verlo en Coreano y escuchar el maravilloso doblaje, vayan  mormon.org/kr.
Tenemos un par de investigadores, pero Corea es una sociedad tan ocupada que es difícil conseguir que vengan a la iglesia. Pero tenemos fe de que puedan sentir la alegría del Evangelio.
Además, algunos de ustedes saben que tengo depresión estacional,  por lo que cuando la luz solar es escasa,  me pongo muy triste y me siento demasiado débil para moverme.  Hubo una semana donde no había luz solar en absoluto, y yo pensé que  no tenía ninguna esperanza, pero Dios fue tan amable como para dejarme ver el sol salir por unos pocos minutos.  Hay un Dios que nos mira y nos da lo que necesitamos porque nos ama,  espero que todos podamos dejar  al mundo saber  que hay un amoroso Padre Celestial que nos conoce.

Transfer 2, week 2- I am cold. And the 4th Thursday of November

Hello! I hope you had a great 4th Thursday of November! I know I did. Thanksgiving doesn't exist here. Luckily we were invited to the bishop's house for a nice Thursday night meal. :) What are you grateful for? I'm grateful for the infinite love God has for His children, everywhere and at any time.

So the weather got very cold, very fast (like overnight). I've never experienced weather this cold. My face always hurts. Haha.

This week wasn't too eventful; we actually met with some people and gave them the Book of Mormon. I told them that they have given us so much kindness, I wanted to give them the best gift I could ever give, which is the message of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope you all can reach out to God's children and give them the best gift, which is without price. I love you all so much, and you have been a wonderful gift from God in my life.

Transfer 2, Semana 2- Tengo frío. Y El Cuarto Jueves de Noviembre

¡Hola! Espero que hayan tenido un gran cuarto jueves de noviembre!(Dia de acción de Gracias) Yo lo hice. Acción de Gracias no existe aquí. Por suerte nos invitaron a la casa del obispo para una buena comida el jueves por la noche. :) ¿Por qué estoy agradecido? Estoy agradecido por el amor infinito que Dios tiene para sus hijos, en todas partes y en cualquier momento.
Bueno el tiempo se puso frío muy rápido (como si fuera media noche). Nunca  había  experimentado el clima tan frío. Mi cara siempre me duele. Haha.
Esta semana no ha estado llena de acontecimientos; en realidad nos encontramos con algunas personas y les di el Libro de Mormón. Yo les dije que nos han dado tanta bondad, por eso quería darles el mejor regalo que podía dar, que es el mensaje del Evangelio restaurado de Jesucristo. Espero que todos ustedes puedan llegar a todos los hijos de Dios y darles el mejor regalo que no tiene precio. Los amo a todos mucho, Todo ustedes han sido un regalo maravilloso de Dios en mi vida.

Lo siento, no tengo mucho que decir .. Tengan una gran semana!

Transfer 2, Week 1 - Transfers, 택견, and Oh I wish that it would rain (not really)

Good morning all. So Because of the time we received transfer calls, I couldn't email you and let you know..

(drum roll) I'm still here in Chungju! It's nice here, but cold. The rain comes down a lot, and when it doesn't, you generally won't see the sun for about a week. It's depressing, but doing the Lord's work helps. Also...

(drum roll, pt 2) My companion Elder Hernandez has transferred to Gwangju, to the Cheomdan ward. He's the District leader there! He'll do great. I miss him, but he's where the Lord needs him.

My new companion is Elder Burton! He actually was living in the same house with me last transfer, he just had to move stuff to a different room. :) His mom is German, so I've sung the German national anthem once or twice (it's in the hymnbook, just not in German).  :)

Also, a potential investigator asked us to participate in a 택견 (Taekgyeon) competition/festival, so that was fun. Taekgyeon is a Korean martial art like Taekwondo, but very different, look it up. You also can do it to music, making it like Korean Zumba... which is what we did, with a bunch of middle aged and elderly women. We actually got a couple referrals from the activity, so we'll hopefully get some new investigators from this. :)

God will direct our paths and put people along the way so we can help them, and even if the path looks unusual to travel through (like Taekgyeon), God know's what's best.

PS: I would recommend a very good Korean dish called BIBIMBAP  –  KOREAN MIXED RICE WITH MEAT AND ASSORTED VEGETABLES.

Transfer 2, Semana 1 - Transferencias, 택견, y Oh Deseo que llueva (no realmente).

Buenos dias a todos. Debido al tiempo en  que recibimos las llamadas de transferencia, no puedo enviarle un correo electrónico y hacerles  saber ..

(redoble de tambores) todavía estoy aquí en Chungju! Es agradable aquí, pero frío. Llueve  mucho, y cuando no lo hace, por lo general, no vemos el sol durante una semana. Es deprimente, pero haciendo la obra del Señor ayuda también...

(redoble de tambores, pt 2) Mi compañero Elder Hernández ha sido trasladado a Gwangju, al Barrio de Cheomdan. Él es el líder Distrito allí! Él lo va a hacer muy bien. Lo echo de menos, pero es donde el Señor lo necesita.

Mi nuevo compañero es Elder Burton! En realidad estaba viviendo en la misma casa conmigo desde la última transferencia, sólo tenía que mover sus  cosas a una habitación diferente. :) Su madre es alemana, así que he cantado el himno nacional alemán una o dos veces (está en el himnario, no sólo en alemán). :)

Además, un investigador potencial nos pidió participar en un 택견 (taekgyeon) concurso / festival, fue divertido. Taekgyeon es un arte marcial coreano como el Taekwondo, pero muy diferente, búsquenlo. También puede hacerlo con  música, por lo que es como  Zumba Coreano ... que es lo que hicimos, con un grupo de mujeres de mediana edad y ancianos. En realidad nos dieron un par de referencias de la actividad, por lo que  con suerte tendremos  algunos de los nuevos investigadores de esto. :)

Dios va a dirigir nuestros caminos y poner a la gente en el camino para que podamos ayudarlos, y aun cuando el camino parece inusual al viajar a través  (como taekgyeon), Dios sabe que es lo mejor.

Transfer 1, Weeks 5&6 - Foreign food, Tranfer calls, 김치 장로, and Greenie Miracles, pt. 2

Hello my friends! God is good.

So, today we will be getting transfer calls at 3 pm (I was expecting them as I was emailing), so I'll have to update you on the transfer news next week.. Sorry. So it's the end of my first transfer! 6 weeks here went by a lot faster than 6 weeks at the MTC, I can tell you that much. I'm loving Chungju, and I think I'll be staying since I've only been here for a short time.

So, on Saturday, we had a church activity where the missionaries from different parts of the world made food and people judged the taste. We have sisters from the Philippines, Me, the Venezuelan, My Honduran trainer, an American elder, and a half German elder. The food was good. :)

At the end of the activity some people pulled out kimchi, as was expected, and I ate a lot of it. Actually, this is the season when people make industrial quantities of kimchi, so that's fun :) Any, I ate a lot, and I hate wasting food, so I finished the leftover kimchi and rice. Some of the sisters in the ward saw that I could handle spicy kimchi, so now they call me Elder Kimchi. :)

I went on another greenie split with Elder Bradshaw. It was raining, so there weren't people to talk to, so we went and visited a member and taught part of the Plan of Salvation. It went way better than I thought because Elder Bradshaw understood what the member was saying. He saved my life. So yeah, greenie miracles! God knows how to help His children.

That's all for the week. I love you all, and I hope you can feel God's love and help others do the same. And even though we may be in different parts of the world, we are all still God's children, and He has a plan for us. :)

Transferencia 1, Semanas 5 y 6 - Comida Extranjera, llamadas de transferencia, 김치 장로  y Milagros de Novato, pt. 2

¡Hola mis amigos! Dios es bueno.

Bueno, hoy vamos a estar recibiendo  llamadas de transferencia  a las 3 pm (Yo esperaba mientras estaba enviando un correo electrónico), así que voy a tener que ponerle al día sobre las noticias de la transferencia  la próxima semana .. Lo siento.  Así que es el final de mi primera transferencia! 6 semanas aquí pasaron mucho más rápido que las 6 semanas en el MTC, les puedo decir que mucho. Yo amo Chungju, y creo que me quedaré ya que  sólo he estado aquí por un tiempo corto.
Así, el sábado, tuvimos una actividad de la iglesia, donde los misioneros de diferentes partes del mundo hicimos comida y la gente juzga el sabor. Tenemos una hermana de Filipinas, Yo el venezolano, Mi entrenador de Honduras, un Elder americano, y un Elder  medio  alemán. La comida estuvo bien. :)
Al final de la actividad de algunas personas sacaron kimchi, como se esperaba, yo comi un montón de él. En realidad, esta es la temporada cuando la gente hace cantidades industriales de kimchi, así que fue divertido :) Comí mucho,  no me gusta desperdiciar comida, así que terminé el kimchi sobrante y el arroz. Algunas de las hermanas del barrio vieron que podía tolerar kimchi picante, así que ahora me llaman Elder Kimchi. :)

Sali en otra división de novatos con Elder Bradshaw. Estaba lloviendo, así que no había gente con quien hablar, por lo que fuimos a visitar un miembro y enseñar  parte del Plan de Salvación. Fue mucho mejor de lo que pensaba porque Elder Bradshaw entendió lo que el miembro estaba diciendo. Él me salvó la vida. Así que sí, milagro de novato! Dios sabe cómo ayudar a sus hijos.
Eso es todo por esta semana. Los amo a todos, y espero que usted puedan sentir el amor de Dios y ayudar a otros a hacer lo mismo. Y a pesar de que podamos estar en diferentes partes del mundo, todos somos  hijos de Dios, y Él tiene un plan para nosotros. :)

Transfer 1 Week 5: T&T, Obama, and "Amen"

Good morning! I hope you all have been well, and that the grace of God has been present in your lives.

So on Wednesday the 4, I went to Daejeon for a trainer and trainee (T&T) meeting. I had to get up at about 4:40 in the morning. Fun stuff. But yeah, T&T was so great! I got to see the people I came with to Korea from the MTC, and it was fun catching up and hearing stories. I learned a lot too. :) I also got some business cards with my face on it, so we all traded cards like Pokemon or whatever.
Also, My trainer was in an area teaching an investigator from Mexico, and we were going to visit her while we were in Daejeon, but she wasn't able to meet. Bummer.. oh well.

So Obama... Since I'm one of the Lord's more diverse sheep in this area of His flock, many people think I'm from Africa, even though I told them distinctly where I'm from and where my parents are from. So yeah, I've been called Obama more than once.. Fun stuff.

"Amen"- So, we have a baptismal date! He's known Elder Hernandez for a while now, so he likes him a lot. We were teaching him English and then we started talking about the church and becoming a member, and so my trainer turns to me and I have to say the baptismal invitation, and after I say it, the spirit just fills the room.
And he says "Amen". Which is a yes :) I hope he'll be ready by the 22nd of the month; he has a smoking problem, but anything's possible with God :)

So yeah, the fall is getting prettier here, and it just takes my breath away. If you want to invite someone to hear the gospel, be direct, like my trainer. Being direct brings miracles, and beating around the bush wastes precious time to prepare for salvation.

Transferencia 1 Semana 5: T&T, Obama y  "Amen"

¡Buenos días! Espero que todos ustedes haya estado bien, y que la gracia de Dios haya estado presente en sus vidas.

Así que el miércoles 4, fuimos a Daejeon para una (T & T) reunión instructor y el estudiante. Me tuve que levantar a eso de 04:40 de la mañana. Cosas divertidas. Pero sí, la reunión fue  grande! Pude  ver a la gente que vino a  Corea del MTC conmigo, y fue muy divertido ponerse al día y escuchar historias. Aprendí mucho también. :) Yo también tengo algunas tarjetas de presentación con mi cara en ella, por lo que todos cambiamos tarjetas  como las de Pokemon o lo que sea.

También, Mi entrenador estuvo  en un área enseñando a una investigadora  de México,  íbamos a visitarla mientras estábamos en Daejeon, pero no pudimos reunirnos. Que chimbo .. 

Así que Obama ... Como yo soy uno de los más diverso  ovejas del Señor en esta área de su rebaño, mucha gente piensa que soy de África, a pesar de que les dije claramente de donde soy y de donde mis padres son. Así que sí, me han llamado  Obama más de una vez .. Muy gracioso.

"Amén" - Entonces, tenemos una fecha de bautismo! Él es conocido de Elder Hernández desde hace un tiempo. Le  estábamos enseñando Inglés y luego empezamos a hablar de la iglesia y convertirse en un miembro, por lo que mi entrenador se vuelve hacia mí y yo tuve  que decir la invitación bautismal, y después que lo dije, el espíritu solo lleno la habitación.

Y dice: "Amén". ¿Qué es un sí :) Espero que estará listo el día 22 del mes;  tiene un problema con el fumar, pero todo es posible con Dios :)

Así que sí, el otoño  es cada vez más bonito aquí, y simplemente me quita el aliento. Si quieres invitar a alguien a escuchar el evangelio, ser directo, como mi entrenador. Ser directo trae milagros, y andarse por las ramas es perder  precioso tiempo para prepararse para la salvación.

Transfer 1 Week 4: Greenie Miracles, 몰몬을 만나다, and "Halloween"

Good morning/evening/whatever everyone! Loving Chungju, but the weather is getting cold. Also, I'm actually in one of the coldest places in the mission from what I have heard. 

In other news, we might have a new investigator. We met her a couple times for English class and seems to be interested in our beliefs. Her friends from another church say that we are a cult (a common name for Mormons here in Korea), but that doesn't stop her asking about our church.

My Korean is improving (Maybe?), but I still understand almost nothing the people say. I love it here, I love the language so much. And the food is great. Last night I had Gamjatang, which is this really good, spicy potato soup with pig spine, I think. Good stuff. I have a lot more food to try, so that's fun :)

The second thing on my title is "Meet the Mormons". We actually watch it often with Korean subtitles. It's great for English class.

And Halloween is nonexistent. It's recognized by some, but nothing special. I like that.

Last but not least, Greenie miracles. I went on a "short" split with Elder Bradshaw, who came with me to Korea, and we tried to 전도 (proselyte), but we couldn't say much at all, and understood even less. All in all, old people fight old drunk people, we got lost for about 3 hours, and Korean is hard. :) But the gospel is great.

I just want to share my quick testimony of the Book of Mormon. My life has undergone so many changes in such a short time, and the Book of Mormon is a constant rock for me to center myself, and I feel peace and joy when I read it. It truly is God's word and evidence for the love He has for all His children. God is good. Have a great week :)

Transferencia 1 Semana 4: Milagro de Novato, 몰몬을 만나다, y "Halloween"

Buena mañana / tarde / lo que sea todo el mundo! Amo Chungju, pero el tiempo se está enfriando. En realidad estoy en uno de los lugares más fríos en la misión de lo que he oído. En otras noticias, podríamos tener un nuevo investigador. La conocimos un par de veces por las clase de Inglés y parece estar interesada en nuestras creencias. Sus amigos de la otra iglesia dicen que somos una secta (un nombre común para los mormones aquí en Corea), pero eso no le impide preguntar sobre nuestra iglesia.

Mi coreano está mejorando (quizás?), Pero todavía no entiendo casi nada. Me encanta estar aquí, me encanta el idioma tanto. Y la comida es genial. Anoche tuve Sopa Gamjatang, que es realmente buena, es sopa de papa picante con lomo de cerdo.  Eso está muy bueno. Tengo  más comida por probar, así que esto es divertido :)

La segunda cosa en mi título es "Conoce a los mormones". En realidad la vemos a menudo con subtítulos en coreano. Es muy bueno para la clase de Inglés.

Y Halloween es inexistente. Es reconocido por algunos, pero nada especial. Me gusta eso.

Por último, pero no menos importante, los milagros de  novato. Fui en una división "corta" con el Elder Bradshaw, que vino conmigo a Corea, y tratamos de predicar, pero no podíamos decir mucho en absoluto, y comprender  incluso menos. Con todo, las personas mayores luchan con  borrachos, nos perdimos durante aproximadamente 3 horas, y el coreano es duro. :) Pero el evangelio es grande.

Sólo quiero compartir mi testimonio rápido del Libro de Mormón.  Mi vida ha sufrido tantos cambios en tan poco tiempo, y el Libro de Mormón es una roca constante para mí mismo,  me siento con paz y alegría cuando lo leo. Es sin duda la palabra y el testimonio de Dios por el amor que Él tiene para todos sus hijos. Dios es bueno. Tenga una gran semana :)

Hello family and friends,

Good night, all is well here in Korea, but we have not found new investigators. I love the people here, and I feel so blessed to be part of this great work. It's all right with you?

I love Chungju. It's been a while since I've emailed, there’s a lot to read.

So, last Monday, The northern zones of our mission (Daejeon, Cheongju, and Cheonan) went up to a park called Songnisan. There are a bunch of Buddhist temples, and I learned a lot about Korean history and whatnot. Also, there is a giant Buddha statue. So cool. Also, the leaves are extremely pretty at this time of year. I’m loving the view, and I must say that the fall here is definitely comparable Utah's fall, if not better. I'll try to get some pictures sent.

Korean is honestly very difficult. It is the hardest thing I've done in my life. I do not understand much, but people look at me and talk like they do not know I do not understand anything. Although Koreans also tell me that my pronunciation is very good, I do not speak much as American missionaries who have time here. I am reading the Book of Mormon in Korean and that will help me with the language.

In other news, I have started reading Jesus the Christ. It is very dense, I must say, but learning so much about the Savior is just wonderful, and reading the Book of Mormon is like a refuge for me. It's so constant and unchanging even when the world around me and the world back home is constantly shifting. I testify that as we establish ourselves on the Savior, we can truly find peace, constancy, and joy in this life and the life to come.

Oh, my title: My companion and I were walking and this guy started talking to us. I don't understand Korean very well, so I just heard a lot of "God" and "heart", but that was it. He asked where I was from, so I told him, and after some more conversation he took my hand, touched my face and said, "It's doesn't matter if you're from South Africa, you are here in Korea for a reason." Super weird, super funny. :)

Today in our P-Day we will not do anything special, we will buy food, wash clothes, and catch up with family.

Hola Familia y amigos,

Buenas noches, todo está bien aquí en Corea, pero no hemos encontrado a nuevos investigadores. Amo a la gente aquí, y me siento tan bendecido de ser parte de esta gran obra. Está todo bien con ustedes?

Me encanta Chungju. Ha sido un tiempo largo desde que he enviado un correo electrónico, habían mucho que leer.

Así, el lunes pasado, las zonas del norte de nuestra misión (Daejeon, Cheongju, y Cheonan) subimos al parque llamado Songnisan. Hay un montón de templos budistas, y aprendí mucho sobre la historia de Corea y otras cosas. También, hay una estatua gigante de Buda. Que Chévere, además, las hojas son muy bonita en esta época del año. Me facinó la vista, y debo decir que el otoño aquí es sin duda comparable al otoño de Utah, si no mejor. Voy a tratar de conseguir algunas fotos para enviarlas.

Honestamente el coreano es muy difícil. Es la cosa más difícil que he hecho en mi vida. No entiendo casi nada, pero la gente me mira y hablan como que no saben que no entiendo nada. Aunque también los coreanos me dicen que mi pronunciación es muy buena, no hablo tanto como los misioneros americanos que tienen tiempo aquí. Estoy leyendo el libro de mormón en coreano y eso me ayudara con el lenguaje.

En otras noticias, he empezado a leer Jesús el Cristo. Es muy denso, hay que decir, pero aprender mucho acerca del Salvador es simplemente maravilloso, y la lectura del Libro de Mormón es como un refugio para mí. Es tan constante e inmutable incluso cuando el mundo que me rodea y el mundo de vuelta a casa está constantemente cambiando. Testifico que a medida que centramos nosotros mismos en el Salvador, podemos encontrar verdaderamente la paz, la constancia, y gozo en esta vida y en la vida venidera.

Oh, mi título: Mi compañero y yo estábamos caminando y este chico empezó a hablar con nosotros. No entendía el coreano muy bien, por lo que podia oír una gran cantidad de "Dios" y "corazón", pero eso fue todo. Me preguntó de dónde era, así que le dije, y después de un poco más de conversación  me tomó la mano, me tocó la cara y dijo: "No es importante si eres de Sudáfrica, Tu está aquí en Corea por una razón ". Super raro, super divertido. :)

Hoy en nuestro P-Day no haremos nada especial, vamos a comprar comida, lavar ropa, y ponernos al día con la familia.

Good morning or evening, I don’t know what the time is for you.

Oh my goodness! I have so much to say, I can’t even explain. The photos I'll send can explain everything better.

I Have been sent to the 청주 zone (Cheongju) to the city of 충주 (Chungju), serving in the 예성 (Yeseong) ward. I love it.

All is well with the president. He’s very nice. My companion and trainer is Elder Carlos Hernandez. He is from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and is the first Latin to serve in Korea.

I have not walked much as you think; Send my regards to the Branch and my co-workers of Merit Medical.

It’s very nice here. I love the food; yesterday I ate a soup called kimchi jjigae 김치 찌개, as Korean Pozole. I love it! I’m sending lots of photos, and also I want to let you know we’re not sending email next week, we will go travel to a place to explore.

Buenos dias, o noches, ni sé qué hora es para ustedes.

¡Oh caramba!,  tengo mucho que decir, que ni siquiera puedo explicar. Las fotos que enviaré se explican solas.

He sido enviado a la zona 청주 (Cheongju) a la ciudad de 충주 (Chungju), sirviendo en el barrio 예성 (Yeseong). Les Amo.

Todo bien con el presidente él es muy chévere, Mi compañero y  mi entrenador es Elder Carlos Hernández, viene de Tegucigalpa Honduras, El  primer latino en servir en Corea. No he caminado tanto como creen, saludos de mi parte a la Rama y mis compañeros de trabajo de Merit Medical.

Todo muy chévere aquí, amo la comida, ayer comí una sopa que se llama kimchi jjigae 김치찌개, y es como pozole Coreano. Me encanta. Les voy a mandar muchas fotos, también quiero  avisarles que nosotros no enviaremos  email la próxima semana, vamos a viajar a un lugar para explorar como misión.

Voy a mandar mucha fotos, estoy tan contento de escuchar que están felices :) y recibiendo bendiciones.

Además, me encanto la conferencia general. Aprendí  mucho. Espero que todos ustedes también lo hicieran.

I really do feel immortal here. People just come and go. But life is good, and I'm hope you all are doing great!

Some funny stories:

Elders Proffit and Wienken were teaching about the law of chastity, and due to slight mispronunciation, they asked the investigator to live the law of martyrdom.

Another Elder asked a person if he was an idiot instead of "are you busy?"

I accidentally asked my investigator if he could prepare his baptismal service, when I tried to ask if he would prepare for it. So yeah.

Another Elder asked someone if their major was beautiful instead of asking if it was difficult (but mechanical engineering is beautiful). Oh, Korean.

Okay, so spiritual stuff:

 Last week, I was hosting, and I had the opportunity to meet Elder Dube of the Seventy, and it was so cool. We talked a little as cars came up to drop off missionaries, and he said it was a beautiful moment to see a missionary leave towards the MTC. But it's tough. I agreed. What a sacred and noble sacrifice it is to send a missionary from the family. I know that God watches over His children, and that He loves us and wants the best for us. 

I am writing letters to family and also for my grandparent’s Branch. Almost every minute here, there's always something to do, then I send a letter as soon as possible. How is everything? Did Samuel and Carla go to school? How’s it going? What classes do they have? How is Sloane? Tremendous? Time passes very quickly here, I can only eat one week until I go to Korea. Thanks for all your support. I am praying for you always and sending greetings to the branch.

Everything is fine except the food here. It’s killing me. Also, read Jeremiah 4:19. That talks about how I feel about the food here. Next P-Day (my last) I will send a tiny video sharing my testimony and to give advice.

I hope all is well. Mama, thank you for the letter you sent in the box, it gave me much joy and comfort; the scriptures sent to me are great. I'm happy to know I have earthly and heavenly parents who love me. Thanks for everything, and God take care of them and guide them.

Yo realmente me siento inmortal aquí. La gente simplemente van y vienen. Pero la vida es buena, y espero que todos ustedes están pasándolo muy bien!
 Algunas historias divertidas:
Elder  Proffit y Wienken estaban enseñando acerca de la ley de castidad, y debido a una ligera mala pronunciación, pidieron al investigador a vivir la ley del martirio.
Otro Elder preguntó a una persona si él era un idiota en lugar de "¿estás ocupado?"
Accidentalmente pregunté a mi investigador si podía preparar su servicio bautismal, cuando traté de preguntarle si iba a prepararse para ella. Así es.
Otro Elder preguntó a alguien si su Carrera era hermosa en lugar de preguntar si era difícil (pero la ingeniería mecánica es hermosa). Oh, el Coreano.
Ok, ahora las cosas espirituales: La semana pasada estaba hosting, y tuve la oportunidad de conocer a Elder Dube de los Setenta, y fue tan chévere. Hablamos un poco mientras los carros se acercaban a dejar a los misioneros, y me dijo que era un hermoso momento ver a los misioneros salir hacia el MTC. Pero es difícil. Estuve de acuerdo. ¡Qué sacrificio sagrado y noble es enviar un misionero de la familia. Sé que Dios vela por sus hijos, y que Él nos ama y quiere lo mejor para nosotros.
Les estoy escribiendo unas cartas para la familia y también para mis abuelitos de la rama. Casi cada minuto aquí hay algo que hacer, entonces les mando la carta lo más pronto posible. Como esta todo? Ya Samuel y Carla entraron a la escuela? Como les va? Cuales clases tienen?, Como esta Sloane? Tremenda?, El tiempo pasa muy rápido aquí, solo me queda como 1 semanas hasta que me vaya a Corea. Gracias por todo su apoyo, estoy orando por ustedes siempre, Saludos a la rama.
Todo está bien, menos la comida aquí, me están matando. Todo está bien, excepto la comida aquí, me está matando. Además, lean Jeremías 04:19. Eso habla de lo que siento por la comida aquí.. El próximo P-Day (mi último) les mando un video chiquito compartiendo mi testimonio y para darles consejo jajaja espero que todo esté bien. Mama, gracias por la carta que mandaste en la caja, me dio mucho gozo y consuelo, las escrituras que me mandan son buenísimas. Estoy contento de saber que tengo padres terrenales y celestiales que me aman. Gracias por todo, y que Dios les cuide y guie.

We're grandparents, and leadership changes.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a good week.

Korean is very good. I love the language, but it's so hard (I would say it's the hardest thing I've ever learned). I can testify pretty well now, I just need to work on my vocab more. It's no wonder that Korean is one of the hardest languages for English speakers.

Also, a new Korean speaking district came in yesterday, so that makes us the grandparent generation; we have about 2-3 ish weeks left here.

Also, my district's leader was called to be zone leader, so I was called to take his place. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve my district, and I already have felt a deeper love for the people around me.

In other news, The Primary General President sister Wixom spoke on Tuesday, so that was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from her words. The MTC really is a wonderful learning place, I can't testify that enough.

Everything's fine. I found some writings in Spanish someone left in a room. They told me I could take them. I'm so happy to read Spanish Writings that I can keep. I received the box with Maruchan, Valentina and tuna (my district was very confused when I was eating from the can) and I still have not finished eating everything in the box. I'm happy here.

Somos abuelos, y cambios de liderazgo.

¡Hola a todos! Espero que todo lo que está teniendo una buena semana.

El Coreano es muy bueno. Me encanta el idioma, pero es tan difícil (yo diría que es la cosa más difícil que he aprendido). Puedo dar testimonio bastante bien ahora, sólo tengo que trabajar mas mi vocabulario. No es de extrañar que Coreano es uno de los idiomas más difíciles para los angloparlantes.

Además, un nuevo distrito de habla coreana entró ayer, por lo que nuestro grupo se conviertieron en abuelos; tenemos cerca de 2-3 semanas mas aquí.

Además, el líder de mi distrito fue llamado a ser líder de zona, por lo que fui llamado a ocupar su lugar. Me siento muy afortunado de tener la oportunidad de servir a mi distrito, ya he sentido amor profundo por las personas que me rodean.

En otras noticias, la Presidente General de la Primaria Hna Wixom habló el martes, fue muy divertido y aprendí mucho de sus palabras. El MTC realmente es un lugar de aprendizaje maravilloso, no puedo testificar lo suficiente.

Todo esta bien, encontre unas escrituras en espanol, alguien las dejo en un cuarto, entonces me dijeron que me las puedo llevar, estoy tan contento por leer en espanol asi puedo mantenerlo. Recibi la caja con las maruchan, valentina y tuna (mi distrito estaba muy confundido cuando estaba comiendo de la lata) y todavia no he terminado de comer todo en la caja. Estoy contento aqui.

Como va la vida?, Escribanme detalles de sus vida, de la familia, de como va la escuela o sus trabajos Les amo muchisimo, y siempre pienso en ustedes. Oro por ustedes y se que Dios me escucha.

Creo que eso es todo por ahora. Un Elder de mi distrito hizo una cancion de la Ley de Castidad con la melodía de Bare Necessities del libro de la selva. Cosas divertidas. ¡Que tengas una buena semana! :)

TIME FLIES (EL TIEMPO VUELA)

Time flies when you're in a classroom for 10+ hours

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. You are all more than welcome to email me updates about your lives; I love hearing from you.

This week was quite good, I must say. Bishop Gerald Causse spoke to us on Tuesday, and that was a good experience. He talked about bold missionaries, and awesome conversion stories. The eternities for so many people can change from just one baptism, and I hope to change someone's eternity.

Updates: There was a fire in Provo Canyon a few days ago, so the whole MTC smelled like smoke for a day.

Running is fun. I run with elder Murray who is in my district, and I realized I could run a lot more than I ever had before. Good stuff.

On Monday a lot of the Spanish speaking elders and sisters will be leaving. I'm sad about that; they are so open and kind, and I wish them the best in the field. I'll try to get a picture or two next week.

Also, on Monday the oldest Korean speaking district will be leaving, making my entry group the oldest. Time really is flying by. The days are long, but the weeks are most definitely short..

One of my teachers said that miracles happen every day on a mission, and we won't see them if we don't have the spiritual eyes to find them. It stuck with me, and I'm trying to find ways to open my spiritual eyes, and I hope you all can look for the miracles in your lives, as there are many. Even if we try our hardest and still fall short, the Lord will give us miracles because He loves us. I testify of that without a doubt.

I am in good health. The elders in my district became ill a few weeks ago me  too, but I'm fine now.

El tiempo vuela cuando estás en un salón de clases por 10 horas.

¡Hola a todos! Espero que todos ustedes estén pasándolo bien. Todos ustedes son más que bienvenido a enviarme por email actualizaciones sobre su vida; Me encanta escuchar de usted.

Esta semana fue bastante buena, debo decir. Obispo Gerald Causse nos habló el martes, y fue una buena experiencia. Habló de los misioneros audaces, y de  historias de conversiones  impresionantes. Las eternidades para tanta gente puede ser recibidas  de un solo bautismo,  espero que para cambiar la eternidad de alguien.

Actualizaciones: Había un Incendio en el Provo Canyon hace unos días, por lo que todo el MTC olía a humo por un día.

Correr es divertido. Corro con Elder Murray, que está en mi distrito, y me di cuenta que podía correr mucho más de lo que hacía antes. Buen material.

El lunes un montón de los elderes y Hermanas de habla hispana se irán. Estoy triste por eso; son tan abiertos y amables,  les deseo lo mejor en el campo misional. Voy a tratar de obtener una foto o dos la próxima semana.

Además, el lunes el distrito más antiguo de habla coreana va a irse, por lo que mi grupo de entrada será el más antiguo. Realmente el tiempo está volando. Los días son largos, pero las semanas son más cortas definitivamente ..

Uno de mis maestros dijo que los milagros ocurren todos los días en una misión, no los vamos a ver si no tenemos los ojos espirituales para encontrarlos. Se me quedó grabada, y estoy tratando de encontrar formas de abrir mis ojos espirituales, y espero que todos ustedes puedan buscar los milagros en sus vidas, ya que hay muchos. Aunque hacemos todo lo más posible y  todavía no estamos a la altura, el Señor nos dará milagros porque nos ama. Doy testimonio de que, sin lugar a dudas.

 Me encontré con un primo de la Hna Dominguez aqui en el MTC (Elder Arguelles),    Nos tomamos una foto. Si la reciben de alguien conocido por favor mándame esa foto.

Yo estoy bien de salud. Los Elderes de mi distrito se enfermaron hace unas semanas  yo también, pero estoy bien ahora.
