Transfer 4, Week 6- Transfer Master, and Hongseong District Conference

Good morning everyone! Life is good, and the Lord is shining His glory on the world today. I'm happy. :)

So, Yesterday down in Seosan we had our 지방부 대회 (District conference). It felt like a stake conference, just a lot smaller and with a brunch of branches (and our group) instead of wards. It was good. Our mission president and his wife spoke. It was good, but I didn't understand too much. It was also nice to see the elders from Hongseong, Daecheon, and the APs from the headquarters.

Also, transfer calls came! Drumroll please..... I'm staying in Dangjin! Elder Peay will be a Zone leader up in Cheongju in the Sangdang area! I TOTALLY called it, so I'm the Transfer Master. And  Elder Ha Minsu will be my new companion. He'll be my first Korean companion, so I'm very excited for the next transfer.

To my missionary friends: remember that when you wear your little name tag, you have been authorized and trusted of the Lord Jesus Christ. When you extend commitments to people and promise blessings, you have the authority to open the windows of heaven to everyone you meet, especially those that believe the heavens are closed, or those that don't know that there is a heaven.

I love you all, and may the windows of heaven pour out blessings upon you abundantly this week.

Transferencia 4, Semana-6  Maestro de transferencia, y la Conferencia de Distrito Hongseong

¡Buenos dias a todos!,  La vida es buena, y el Señor está brillando Su gloria en el mundo de hoy. Estoy feliz. :)

Así, ayer en Seosan tuvimos nuestra 지방부 대회 (Conferencia de Distrito). Se sentía como una conferencia de estaca, sólo mucho más pequeña y con un grupo de ramas (y nuestro grupo) en lugar de Barrios. Estuvo bien. Nuestro presidente de misión y su esposa hablaron. Estuvo  bueno, pero yo no entendía demasiado. También fue agradable ver a los misioneros de Hongseong, Daecheon, y los asistente de la mision.

Tambien, las llamadas de transferencia vinieron! Redoble de tambores por favor ..... Me voy a quedar en Dangjin! Elder Peay será un líder de zona en Cheongju en la zona Sangdang!, así que soy el Maestro de transferencia. Elder Ha Minsu será mi nuevo compañero. Que va a ser mi primer compañero de Corea, así que estoy muy emocionado por la próxima transferencia.

Eso es todo las noticias que tengo para hoy! Espero que todos ustedes están haciendo muy bien.

A mis amigos misioneros: recuerde que cuando ustedes  usan  su pequeña placa con su nombre, que han sido confiando y autorizados por el Señor Jesucristo. Al extender compromisos y promesas a las personas, ustedes tiene la autoridad para abrir las ventanas de los cielos a todos los que conoces, especialmente aquellos que creen que los cielos están cerrados, o los que no saben que hay un cielo.

Los amo a todos, y que las ventanas de los cielo derramen bendiciones sobre ustedes en abundancia esta semana.

Transfer 4, Week 5- When is Easter?

Hello everyone! This was another relatively uneventful week.

We met with Jose again, and he's been stressed because of family stuff, and we suggested trying to have family home evening. Unfortunately, because Korea's such a busy society he doesn't stop working until at least midnight and his son does homework until about 2 or 3 in the morning. I'm grateful to have grown up in a situation where there was time to spend as a family, and I hope to spend time with my family as much as I can. Families truly are ordained of God.

I also gave a talk in church yesterday (which is normal when you have an attendance of 13), and next week is district conference! It's like stake conference, but instead of a stake, it's an ecclesiastical district, and instead of wards, it's a bunch of branches (or groups, like Dangjin). It'll be fun. President Shin and Sister Shin will be there, so that's exciting.

Anyway, nothing of import happened this week, so I'll just send a couple of pictures, and let you know that God is good all the time. I love you all, have a great week! :)

Transferencia  4, Semana 5- ¿Cuándo es la Pascua?

¡Hola a todos! Esta fue otra semana relativamente tranquila.

Nos encontramos con José de nuevo,  ha estado muy preocupado  debido a asuntos familiares, y nos propusimos tratar de tener una noche de hogar. Desafortunadamente, debido a que Corea es una sociedad muy ocupada  Jose no deja  de trabajar  por lo menos hasta la medianoche y su hijo hace tarea hasta las 2 o 3 de la mañana. Estoy agradecido de haber crecido en una situación en la que  había tiempo para pasar en familia, yo espero poder pasar tiempo con mi familia tanto como pueda. 

Las familias realmente son ordenadas por Dios.

También di una charla en la iglesia ayer (lo cual es normal cuando se tiene una asistencia de 13), y la próxima semana es la Conferencia de Distrito! Es como una conferencia de estaca, pero en lugar de una participación, es un eclesiástica distrito, y en vez de Barrios son un montón de ramas (o grupos, como Dangjin). Será divertido. Presidente Shin  y la hermana Shin estarán allí, por lo que es emocionante.

De todos modos, nada de importancia ocurrió esta semana, así que voy a enviar un par de fotos, y hacerle saber que Dios es bueno todo el tiempo. Los amo a todos, tenga una gran semana! :)

Transfer 4, Week 4- 그냥 그랬어요

Good morning to you all back home or in the mission field! I hope you are well.

So, the title is pretty descriptive of the email this week. It was an uneventful week, mostly. We couldn't meet with people too much, so there was a lot of walking (I have no sympathy for missionaries with cars or bikes, just saying). But it's good! The work of the Lord moves forward no matter what. I love being a missionary.

Also, I gained a stronger testimony on fasting. Yesterday while fasting, I felt so spiritually renewed and invigorated. I hadn't felt the Spirit so much in quite a while. So I'll share Isaiah 58:6-11 as a good fasting scripture for all of you to read.

In our Dangjin group, our attendance was 13 strong, and everyone shared their testimony! I loved it. I'm so glad I got the chance to share that experience with everyone.

Also, a less active came to church yesterday! It was such a miracle. We never expected it, and I had a huge smile on my face :)

So, that's all for today, I didn't take many pictures, but I'll send one or two of the End of Everything. The ocean changed colors, and it was beautiful.

The Lord is good. Fasting is good, and if you don't usually fast, give it a shot. It's such a blessing in my life, and I know the blessings from it are real! I love you all, have a great week.

Transferencia 4, Semana 4- 그냥 그랬어요

Buenos días a todos por  casa o en el campo misional! Espero que estén bien.

Bueno, el título es bastante descriptivo del correo electrónico esta semana. Fue una semana sin incidentes, en su mayoría. No pudimos reunirnos con gente mucho, así que tuvimos que caminar un montón (no tengo ninguna simpatía por los misioneros con los coches o bicicletas, sólo por decir). Pero es bueno! La obra del Señor se mueve hacia adelante no importa qué. Me encanta ser un misionero.

Además, obtuve un testimonio más fuerte sobre el ayuno. Ayer durante el ayuno, me sentí renovado y fortalecido de manera espiritual. No había sentido el Espíritu tanto en bastante tiempo. Así que voy a compartir Isaías 58: 6-11 como una buena escritura de ayuno para que todos ustedes la lean.

En nuestro grupo Dangjin, la asistencia fue de 13 fuertes, y todo el mundo compartió su testimonio! Me encantó. Estoy muy contento de haber tenido la oportunidad de compartir esa experiencia con todo el mundo.

Además, unos menos activos llegaron a la iglesia ayer! Fue un milagro. Nosotros no lo estábamos esperando, yo tenía una gran sonrisa en mi cara :)

Bueno, eso es todo por hoy, no tomé muchas fotos, pero voy a enviar uno o dos de el final de todo. El océano cambió de color, y fue precioso.

El Señor es bueno. El ayuno es bueno, y si no lo hace generalmente rápido, Trátenlo. Es una gran bendición en mi vida, y sé que las bendiciones de ella son reales! Les amo a todos, que tenga  una gran semana.

Transfer 4, Week 3- The End of Everything

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. I don't have too much to say. We're still trying to meet with Jose, but he's been super busy. His son Josh got confirmed yesterday, and that was nice :)

Also, last Pday we got a media referral! It was super random, and felt like Christmas. I've only seen 2 church referrals in my time as a missionary, so it's a pretty nifty experience.

In addition to that we went to this place called 해미읍성 (If I romanize this, it'll will be a miserable experience for all of us) or Haemieupseong (I told you). It's in the Seosan area, and was some sort of prison fortress where they brutally persecuted Catholics in the late 1700s. It was fun stuff. It'll look better in the summer when everything is green and alive.

Also, yesterday, Elder Peay and I decided to go to a place called Dobido. It's the End of Everything, as I call it. It's right by the ocean and was a gorgeous view with snow covered islands (it snowed randomly on Saturday night), and wind that cuts through the soul. I loved it, especially because it was the first time I had seen the ocean since I landed in Korea.

4 de transferencia, Semana 3- El fin de todo

¡Hola a todos! Espero que todos estén bien. No tengo mucho que decir. Todavía estamos tratando de reunirnos  con José, pero él ha estado muy ocupado.  Su hijo Josh se confirmó ayer, y fue muy  agradable :)

También, el ultimo  día de preparación  conseguimos una referencia! Estaba súper alegre, y  me sentí como en Navidad. Sólo he visto 2 referidos a la  iglesia en mi tiempo como misionero, así que es una experiencia bastante ingenioso.

Además de eso fuimos a este lugar llamado 해미읍 성 (Si romanizar esto, que va será una experiencia horrible para todos nosotros) o Haemieupseong (Te lo dije). Está en la zona de Seosan, y era una especie de fortaleza prisión donde brutalmente perseguían a los católicos a finales de 1700.

Fue algo divertido. Se verá mejor en el verano, cuando todo está verde y vivo.

Además, ayer, Elder Peay y yo decidimos ir a un lugar llamado Dobido. Es el final de todo, como yo lo llamo. Está justo al lado del océano y era una vista preciosa, con Islas cubiertas de nieve (nevó al azar el sábado por la noche), y  con un  viento que corta hasta el alma. Me encantó, sobre todo porque era la primera vez que había visto el mar desde que aterrice en Corea.

De todos modos, eso es todo para la semana! Espero que les guste las fotos y testifico que Dios vive, Él nos ama y está acelerando el trabajo! Tengan una maravillosa semana.

Transfer 4, Week 2- Josh

Good morning everyone, I hope you all are doing well. :)

We had a baptism yesterday! His name is Josh. His dad is from Peru, and his Mom is Korean. He is a young man of 16 years (Korean age) and he has met with missionaries for a few months. I came into Dangjin, and my companion Elder Peay asked if he would like to be baptized. He said yes, and he chose the date himself! He was super prepared, and hopefully his dad Jose will follow Jesus Christ with his son.

I have to say, I love speaking Spanish with someone in Korea. It feels like home in a foreign land.

Also, yesterday there was a celebration of the first full moon after the lunar new year. It is the coolest thing (well, not literally- quite the opposite actually). I heard it is to get rid of evil spirits, and bad stuff in general, and also to make a wish to the moon. Either way, there is a giant bonfire and it's fantastic. The members were kind enough to take us.

TRANFERENCIA 2, SEMANA 2 – JOSH

Buenos días a todos, espero que todos estén bien. :)

Tuvimos un bautismo ayer! Su nombre es Josh. Su padre es de Perú, y su madre es coreana. Él es un joven de 16 años (edad coreana) y se ha reunido con los misioneros durante unos meses. Llegue a  Dangjin, y mi compañero Elder Peay le pregunto si le gustaría ser bautizado. Dijo que sí, y escogió la fecha el  mismo!  Él estaba  muy preparado, y es mi esperanza que su padre José  siga a Jesucristo con su hijo.

Tengo que decir, me encanta hablar español con alguien en Corea. Se siente como en casa en un país extranjero.

Además, ayer hubo una celebración de la primera luna llena después del año nuevo lunar. Es la cosa más Divertida (bueno, no literalmente- todo lo contrario en realidad). He oído que es deshacerse de los malos espíritus, y cosas malas en general, y también para pedir un deseo a la luna. De cualquier manera, hay una gigantesca hoguera y es fantástico. Los miembros tuvieron la amabilidad de llevarnos.
