Hello all, I hope you had a spectacular week! Mine was interesting. So last week on preparation day, we went sightseeing around Naju. We went to Naju Hyanggyo, an old Confucianism school that is now like a cultural hotel, then walked and went to Shimhyangsa, a temple right next to a high school in Naju. It's super pretty there. There are so many temples around here I think i'm in Utah sometimes ㅋㅋ
We then tried going to another temple called Dabosa, but... we accidentally climbed up a mountain instead. The view from the top was awesome though, and we actually saw Dabosa, along with other temples in Naju, and we saw the path we needed to take. Funny how a high perspective can make things so clear to our understanding. God's higher perspective is probably the clearest of all, and we just need to trust His will for our benefit.
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to go to Dabosa, but we'll go soon! Actually, on the top of the mountain, I saw a guy I met on the street my first day in Naju (we remembered each other), and on the way down, we were able to hand out pass along cards to a few people. It was a huge miracle, I'm thankful that God directs my steps.
Then on Saturday we went to 광주 for mission tour with Elder Yamashita of the Seventy/Asia North Area presidency. He and his wife a just beams of sunshine and probably the biggest thing that I took from mission tour was committing to let the gospel and the joy that it brings radiate from my face until the day I die. I hope you all can do the same and let the world know the joy that you have. I know for sure that there's plenty of joy to go around.
The quote at the top was by Elder Yamashita to Elder Hardy in my district. Elder Hardy lost his scriptures a while ago and Elder Yamashita found them at a restaurant in Daejeon and brought them down to Gwangju. He saw Elder Hardy and said "Elder Hardy, you are a very important man today..."
"What?"
"You don't understand what I'm saying..." and he walked away. Very mysterious.
In the middle of the meeting, Elder Yamashita pulled out his scriptures and brought Elder Hardy up to the stand, and gave them back to him. It was funny.
So to finish, I'll update you on the 58-day Book of Mormon reading challenge. Today is day 14, and we'll read 2 Nefi chapters 25-27 in English and Korean. I'llshare with you a scripture I found in the last few days. As I mentioned last week, we are focusing on repentance and conversion, and to me, obedience is a very impotant part in the conversion process.
1 Nephi 17:13 And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall be led towards the promised land; and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led.

Transferencia 12, Semana 5 - Me encanta ver el Templo (s); "No entiendes lo que estoy diciendo"
¡Hola a todos, espero que hayan tenido una semana espectacular! La mía fue interésate. Así que la semana pasada en el día de preparación (P-DAY), fuimos de turismo alrededor de Naju. Fuimos a Naju Hyanggyo, una antigua escuela confuciana que ahora es como un hotel cultural, luego caminamos y fuimos a Shimhyangsa, un templo justo al lado de una escuela secundaria en Naju. Es súper bonito allí. Hay tantos templos por aquí creo que estoy en Utah a veces ㅋㅋ
Luego intentamos ir a otro templo llamado Dabosa, pero ... accidentalmente subimos una montaña en su lugar. La vista desde la cima era increíble, y vimos Dabosa, junto con otros templos en Naju, y vimos el camino que necesitábamos para tomar. Es curioso cómo una perspectiva alta puede hacer las cosas tan claras para nuestra comprensión. La perspectiva superior de Dios es probablemente la más clara de todas, y solo necesitamos confiar en Su voluntad para nuestro beneficio.

Porque como los cielos son más altos que la tierra, así son mis caminos más altos que tus caminos, y mis pensamientos más que tus pensamientos.
¡Por desgracia, no tuvimos suficiente tiempo para ir a Dabosa, pero iremos pronto! En realidad, en la cima de la montaña, vi a un chico que conocí en la calle mi primer día en Naju (nos recordamos el uno al otro), y en el camino hacia abajo, pudimos entregar tarjetas a varias personas. Fue un gran milagro, estoy agradecido de que Dios dirija mis pasos.
Luego el sábado fuimos a 광주 para una gira de la misión con el élder Yamashita de la presidencia de los Setenta / Asia del Norte. Él y su esposa sólo un rayo de sol y probablemente lo más importante que tomé de la gira misional fue el compromiso de dejar que el evangelio y la alegría que trae irradian de mi cara hasta el día que muera. Espero que todos ustedes puedan hacer lo mismo y que el mundo conozca la alegría que tienen. Sé con seguridad que hay un montón de alegría para ir alrededor.
La cita en la parte superior fue por el élder Yamashita y el Elder Hardy en mi distrito. Elder Hardy perdió sus escrituras hace un tiempo y el élder Yamashita las encontró en un restaurante en Daejeon y las llevó a Gwangju. Vio al Élder Hardy y le dijo: "Élder Hardy, hoy eres un hombre muy importante ..."
"¿Qué?"
"No entiendes lo que estoy diciendo ..." y se alejó. Muy misterioso.
En medio de la reunión, el élder Yamashita sacó sus escrituras y se las llevó al Elder Hardy al puesto, y se las devolvió. Fue divertido.
Así que para terminar, les pondré al día en el reto de lectura de 58 días del Libro de Mormón. Hoy es el día 14, y leeremos 2 capítulos Nefi 25-27 en inglés y coreano. Voy a compartir con ustedes una escritura que encontré en los últimos días. Como mencioné la semana pasada, nos estamos enfocando en el arrepentimiento y la conversión, y para mí, la obediencia es una parte muy impotente en el proceso de conversión.

Y yo también seré vuestra luz en el desierto; Y prepararé el camino delante de vosotros, si es que guardaréis mis mandamientos; Por tanto, en cuanto guardéis mis mandamientos, seréis conducidos hacia la tierra prometida; Y sabréis que por mí soy guiado.
