Transfer 12, Week 4- 왜냐하면

Hey all, I hope things are going well for you. You're all in my prayers. :)

Okay, first of all, things have changed with missionary schedules, as you all have heard. Most of my missionary friends have experienced that, but also, President Madsen has decided to change our preparation day to Tuesday! This means that I will see all your New World emails basically within 24 hours of you sending them, but now you have the week delay with my emails.

Second of all, the Asia north presidency has asked that all members read the Book of Mormon within the year to strengthen and deepen their conversion. Our mission took the same challenge, but not within a year, but within 58 days. In English and Korean. Basically, it's stressful, but I know that I will be able to accomplish this task with the Lord's help. We'll be done with 1 Nephi by the end of the week :)

Okay, so I'll talk about 정덕진b. He's the best. He served as a missionary couple with his wife for about 6 years just around in his hometown of Naju. He usually helps people with farming and outdoor stuff, and he is fearless in sharing the gospel. We went around with him visiting people and since he was on a little moped, we went from between a very energetic speedwalk to basically running sprints behind him to keep up. It was fun. So do member missionary work! It really raises the spirituality of any congregation.

I also want to end with a little spiritual experience. The Naju branch president's daughter is the same age as me, and she's preparing to go on a mission, maybe in August, so she's working a part time job. In Korean culture, you never use your first paycheck for yourself. You buy stuff for your family.

So in fast and testimony meeting, the branch president talked a bit about the first paycheck. The family was pressuring her to buy something extravagant for the whole family (maybe it was just a lot of fried chicken- I didn't quite understand the Korean at that point), but she kept refusing. After several refusals, her father asked her why, and she said that she wouldn't be able to pay her tithing if she did buy something big, so she ended up buying a simpler gift for the family, and her father was perfectly content. "I know she's preparing well to serve", he said with pride and joy in his voice. At that moment, the Spirit hit me so hard it felt like I hit a brick wall. Keeping the commandments brings blessings, I know it.

3 Nephi 24:10 (Malachi 3:10)

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house; and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Transferencia 12, Semana 4- 왜냐하면

Hey todo, espero que las cosas les vayan bien. Todos ustedes están en mis oraciones. 

Bueno, en primer lugar, las cosas han cambiado con los horarios misioneros, como todos ustedes han oído. ¡La mayoría de mis amigos misioneros han experimentado eso, pero también, el presidente Madsen ha decidido cambiar nuestro día de preparación para el martes! Esto significa que veré todos los correos electrónicos de su nuevo mundo básicamente dentro de las 24 horas de enviarlos, pero ahora tiene la semana de retraso con mis correos electrónicos.

En segundo lugar, la presidencia de Asia del Norte ha pedido que todos los miembros lean el Libro de Mormón en un año para fortalecer y profundizar su conversión. Nuestra misión tomó el mismo desafío, pero no en un año, sino en 58 días. En inglés y coreano. Básicamente, es estresante, pero sé que seré capaz de cumplir esta tarea con la ayuda del Señor. Terminaremos con 1 Nefi al final de la semana :)

Bueno, entonces hablaré de 정덕진 b. Él es el mejor. Él sirvió como  pareja de misioneros con su esposa por alrededor de 6 años  alrededor en su ciudad natal de Naju. Por lo general, ayuda a la gente con la agricultura y cosas al aire libre, y es audaz en compartir el evangelio. Fuimos con él visitando a la gente y ya que estaba en un pequeño ciclomotor, nos fuimos de entre una caminata muy enérgica básicamente corriendo detrás de él para mantener el ritmo. Fue divertido. ¡Lo mismo ocurre con el trabajo misional de los miembros! Realmente eleva la espiritualidad de cualquier congregación.

También quiero terminar con una pequeña experiencia espiritual. La hija del presidente de la rama Naju tiene la misma edad que yo, y se está preparando para ir a una misión, tal vez en agosto, por lo que está trabajando a tiempo parcial. En la cultura coreana, nunca usas tu primer sueldo para ti mismo. Ellos compra cosas para su familia.

Así que en una reunión rápida y testimonial, el presidente de la rama habló un poco sobre el primer cheque de pago. La familia la estaba presionando para que comprara algo extravagante para toda la familia (tal vez era sólo un montón de pollo frito - no entendía muy bien a la coreana en ese momento), pero ella se negaba. Después de varias negativas, su padre le preguntó por qué, y ella dijo que no sería capaz de pagar su diezmo si comprara algo grande, por lo que terminó comprando un regalo más sencillo para la familia, y su padre estaba perfectamente contento. "Sé que se está preparando bien para servir", dijo con orgullo y alegría en su voz. En ese momento, el Espíritu me golpeó tan fuerte que sentí como si hubiera golpeado una pared de ladrillo. Mantener los mandamientos trae bendiciones, lo sé.

3 Nefi 24:10 (Malaquías 3:10)

Traed todos los diezmos al almacén, para que haya carne en mi casa; Y probadme ahora con esto, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, si no os abro las ventanas de los cielos, y os derramo una bendición que no habrá espacio suficiente para recibirla.
