Hi all, I hope you had a good week! Last week, I went to a place called Donghaksa (It's a hiking trail with Buddhist temples and pretty scenery), so I'll just load this email with tons of pictures :)
Anyway, I had a good week. We got a new investigator! Here in Korea we teach English as a form of service, and we also use it as a way to reach out to others and teach the gospel. So this man called from a paper we put up on the street, and when we met, he expressed his desire to speak English well and go to the US and give better opportunities for his 3 children. We asked him what his goals were, and he just said "my dream is to help my kids achieve their dreams".
I was very touched by his desire to bless his family, and I shared my parents' experience when they went to the US. He looked at me after I finished, and he said, "You must be really grateful for the sacrifice your parents made." I looked him straight in the eyes and said "With all my heart".
So go thank your family for all the wonderful things they have done for you and the sacrifices they made to help you be successful! I'm grateful for my family, my heritage and for my Father in Heaven who sent His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.
Here's an unrelated but uplifting spiritual thought: 2 Nephi 33:10
And now, my beloved brethren, and also Jew, and all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good
That's all I have to say, I hope you have a great Halloween! Side note: Halloween is a thing here, somewhat commercialized, but nowhere near as big as the US. The biggest celebrations here are probably in the LDS churches ㅎㅎ

Transferencia 10, ¡Semana 2- Feliz Halloween!
¡Hola a todos, espero que hayan tenido una buena semana! La semana pasada, fui a un lugar llamado Donghaksa (es una ruta de senderismo con templos budistas y un paisaje bonito), así que voy a cargar este correo electrónico con toneladas de imágenes :)
Bueno, tuve una buena semana. ¡Tenemos un nuevo investigador! Aquí en Corea enseñamos inglés como una forma de servicio, y también lo usamos como una manera de llegar a otros y enseñar el evangelio. Así que este hombre llamó desde un periódico que pusimos en la calle, y cuando le conocimos, expresó su deseo de hablar bien el inglés y de ir a Estados Unidos y dar mejores oportunidades a sus 3 hijos. Le preguntamos cuáles eran sus objetivos, y él simplemente dijo "mi sueño es ayudar a mis hijos a lograr sus sueños".
Yo estaba muy conmovido por su deseo de bendecir a su familia, y compartí la experiencia de mis padres cuando fueron a los Estados Unidos. Me miró después de que terminé y dijo: -Debe estar muy agradecido por el sacrificio que sus padres hicieron. Lo miré directamente a los ojos y le dije: "Con todo mi corazón".
¡Así que da gracias a tu familia por todas las cosas maravillosas que han hecho por ti y los sacrificios que hicieron para ayudarte a tener éxito! Estoy agradecido por mi familia, mi origenes y por mi Padre Celestial que envió a Su Hijo como un sacrificio por nuestros pecados.
He aquí un pensamiento espiritual no relacionado pero edificante: 2 Nefi 33:10
Y ahora bien, mis amados hermanos, y también vosotros los judíos y todos los extremos de la tierra, escuchad estas palabras y creed en Cristo; y si no creéis en estas palabras, creed en Cristo. Y si creéis en Cristo, creeréis en estas palabras, porque son las palabras de Cristo, y él me las ha dado; y enseñan a todos los hombres que deben hacer lo bueno.
¡Eso es todo lo que tengo que decir, espero que tengas un gran Halloween! Nota: Halloween es una cosa aquí, algo comercializado, pero en ninguna parte tan grande como los EE.UU. Las mayores celebraciones aquí probablemente están en las iglesias SUD.
