Transfer 9, Week 4- KSL

Hey all! I won't be saying too much, but I have been seeing the tender mercies of the Lord in my life, and I hope that you all have as well!

The weather has been cooling down, and apparently the rice harvests are beginning! Unfortunately, since I'm in a big city, rice fields are kinda hard to find.. :( but the harvest of souls continues in the Daejeon mission!

Fun fact from our mission president: Daejeon (대전 - 大田) literally means “great field.” The field is white already to harvest :)

So the title is just a tender mercy I experienced yesterday. We had to take a bus to go to another part of the city for a proselyting activity, but we missed it, and I called the district leader to let him know we would be late, and he told me in essence that there was a reason for me to miss the bus. So I trusted and waited.

A few minutes later, a man and woman came to the bus stop and I moved to the side so they could take a seat, and I tried to communicate, but they were deaf! They were speaking Korean sign language (KSL), which is nothing like ASL at all. My companion had learned a phrase (Nice to meet you), so he did that and they were very happy to see that. The woman kept looking at me, saw my name tag, and signed the word for "Jesus", which seems to be the same in other signing languages. I recognized it, and signed "Jesus" back to them, followed by a thumbs up!

My best street contact yet, and I didn't speak a word. Even though they wouldn't take a pamphlet or pass-along card, I still felt so much love for them, and rejoiced in the knowledge of the resurrection, that they will be able to hear again and hear the voice of a loving God resounding in their souls.

Alma 40:23

 The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame.

Transferencia 9, Semana 4- KSL

¡Hey a todos! ¡No voy a decir demasiado, pero he estado viendo las misericordias del Señor en mi vida, y espero que todos ustedes también!

¡El tiempo se ha enfriado, y al parecer las cosechas de arroz están empezando! Por desgracia, desde que estoy en una gran ciudad, los campos de arroz son un poco difícil de encontrar .. :( pero la cosecha de las almas continúa en la misión de Daejeon!

Dato curioso de nuestro presidente de misión: Daejeon (대전 - 大田) significa literalmente "gran campo." El campo blanco está ya para la siega :)

Así que el título es sólo una bella misericordia que experimenté ayer. Tuvimos que tomar un autobús para ir a otra parte de la ciudad para una actividad de proselitismo, pero no lo vimos, y llamamos al líder de distrito para hacerle saber que llegaríamos tarde, y me dijo en esencia, que había una razón para perder el autobús. Así que yo confiaba y esperaba.

¡Unos minutos más tarde, un hombre y una mujer llegaron a la parada de autobús y me moví a un lado para que pudieran tomar asiento, tratamos de comunicar, pero eran sordos! Ellos estaban hablando el lenguaje de signos de Corea (KSL), que no es igual que el ESL en absoluto. Mi compañero había aprendido unas frases (Mucho gusto), por lo que la hizo que ellos estaban muy contentos de ver que tratamos. La mujer no dejaba de mirarme, vio mi placa, y firmó la palabra "Jesús", que parece ser el mismo en otros idiomas. ¡Lo reconocí, y firmé “Jesús” de nuevo a ellos, seguido de un pulgar hacia arriba!

Mi mejor contacto de calle todavía, y no hable una palabra. A pesar de que no tomaron un folleto o una tarjeta, todavía me siento tan lleno de amor por ellos, y me gozo en el conocimiento de la resurrección, que van a ser capaces de escuchar de nuevo y escuchar la voz de un Dios amorosos resonar en sus almas.

Alma 40:23

 El alma será restaurada al cuerpo, y el cuerpo al alma; sí, y todo miembro y coyuntura serán restablecidos a su cuerpo; sí, ni un cabello de la cabeza se perderá, sino que todo será restablecido a su propia y perfecta forma.
