Hi all! I'm doing well. I hope you all are well. Now that the small talk's out of the way... :)
I love Naju. It's very small, and the people have a tendency to disappear at night (Even on weekends- there's actually LESS people, haha), but the members are so full of love and energy, and the really like the missionaries here.
So now, story time, in chronological order.
1. We went to visit a member in the countryside, he lives in a village, to my surprise (I didn't think villages really existed anymore). I sat in the front of the bus, and we started to talk. At one stop he stared at me intently through the mirror, and after a few seconds, I asked him if there was something wrong. The following conversation took place in Korean:
Driver: "Your face isn't black, though."
Me: "I'm sorry, say that again?"
Driver: "Your face isn't black."
Me: "Ah, I'm Latino."
Driver: "Oh. I thought you were from Africa."
Korea's not the most diverse of places in the countryside.
Story 2- The sisters in Mokpo gave me a call at about 3 or 4 on Thursday, and it turns out that they had an investigator that could to be baptized on Saturday, and so we dropped all our plans, took the train down to Mokpo and I interviewed her. She was baptized and confirmed over the weekend. :)
Also, Thursday evening is when they have meetings with the ward mission leader, and when he walked in the church, he looked at me, and said "Oh, Samoa?"
I replied, "No, my parents are from Venezuela."
He was just joking about Samoa, I found out, but he saw me and told me that he was reminded of his Hawaiian companions. Fun stuff.
So that's all I have to say for now, I hope you have a great week! I've been able to see little tender mercies, and unfortunately, the Christmas spirit is not very strong here in this part of the world, except for some lit up churches and bakeries. Anyway, just keep trying to #LightTheWorld, and I will try over here in the little land of Naju. :)

Transferencia 11, Semana 2-“¿pensé que eras de África” ”Samoa?"
¡Hola a todos! Lo estoy pasando bien. Espero que todos estén bien. Ahora que salir de la charla de la manera ... :)
Me encanta Naju. Es muy pequeño, y la gente tiene una tendencia a desaparecer en la noche (incluso los fines de semana, en realidad hay menos gente, jaja), pero los miembros están llenos de amor y energía, y la verdad les gustan los misioneros aquí.
Bueno, la hora del cuento, en orden cronológico.
1. Fuimos a visitar a un miembro en el campo, que vive en una aldea, para mi sorpresa (No pensé que realmente existieran más aldeas). Me senté en la parte delantera del autobús, y empezamos a hablar. En una parada se quedó mirándome fijamente a través del espejo, y después de unos segundos, le pregunte si había algo malo. La siguiente conversación tuvo lugar en Corea:
Conductor: "Su cara no es negra, sin embargo."
Yo: "¿Lo siento, puede decirlo de nuevo?"
Conductor: "Su cara no es negra."
Yo: "Ah, yo soy latino."
Conductor: "Oh. Yo pensé que eras de África."
En los Campos de Corea no son los más diverso.
Historia 2 - Las hermanas en Mokpo me dieron una llamada a las 3 o 4 el jueves, y resulta que tenían una investigadora que podía ser bautizada el sábado, y por eso se cayeron todos nuestros planes, tomamos el tren a Mokpo y la entrevisté. Ella fue bautizada y confirmada el fin de semana. :)
También, el jueves por la noche es cuando tenemos reuniones con el líder misional de barrio, cuando entramos a la iglesia, me miraron y dijeron: "¿Oh, Samoa?"
Le respondí: "No, mis padres son de Venezuela."
Él sólo estaba bromeando sobre Samoa, descubrí, pero él me vio y me dijo que se acordó de sus compañeros de Hawai. Divertido.
¡Así que eso es todo lo que tengo que decir por ahora, espero que tengan una gran semana! He podido ver pequeñas misericordias, por desgracia, el espíritu de la Navidad no es muy fuerte aquí en esta parte del mundo, a excepción de algunas Iglesias Iluminadas y panaderías. De todos modos, sigo tratando de #LightTheWorld, y voy a tratar aquí en la pequeña tierra de Naju. :)
